Cupcake anyone?

                         Cupcake_birthday_2

Just a fun little birthday card I did.  I found the polka dot paper in my stash and just went from there with all the fun colors.

The card base is 5 x 5 size and is Tempting Turquoise.  Definitely not a color I would normally go to but is it ever great with this dp!  The ink is also TT with Choc Chip on the cupcake.  I stamped the candle in orange and glued it in behind my little flower and mini button.  Then I used the Word Window punch for the sentiment and tied on the Michaels bargain ribbon.    Easy peasy!  I don't have envelopes this size but I did order some of the glassine bags from Papertrey and will make an envelope just like Nichole did on one of her cards which will be cute to have this bright colorful image show through.  Thanks again for stopping by.  See you soon.

A Kitchen Sink Thank You

                         Kitchen_sink_thank_you

I am sure this is too much information but.....on the weekend I was changing the sheets on the bed and thought to myself they look just like the 3 step daisy stamp set I have by Kitchen Sink Stamps.   So of course I had to use them as inspiration!  The sheets are white flannel (because it is still winter here in Canada!) with tons of light and dark pink flowers all over.  When I showed my hubby this card and said I copied the sheets he totally agreed!  Oh and yes, I am sure he is just thrilled that we have pink flowered sheets on the bed....LOL!!!  These stamps are so detailed and so easy to use and it's mind boggling how beautiful the flower comes out even on the first try.  Makes you look like you know what you are doing when really the stamp does all the work.  There is one larger flower than these in the set also. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

The ink colors are Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose and the dark centre of the larger flowers is Palette Bordeaux.  The white is matted on a chocolate chip base and I did a double ribbon knot as you can see.  I also attached rhinestones to the centre of some of the small flowers.  I LOVE this card and I hope I don't have to Thank anyone too soon so I can keep it for awhile.  Haha.  Thanks for looking.  I hope you all have a great week!

Happy Sunday

                         Basic_grey_papertrey

I have officially been blogging for 3 weeks now.  And I am loving it.  I find that having this blog is forcing me to actually create more and make more cards than ever before.  All in a good way.  I know I won't ever post every day but I have been enjoying my late night stamping on the weekends.  This was one I came up with Friday night.  It's quite elegant I think.  The other two I did Friday are way more "cutesy" and I will post those in a day or 2.  I find my cards can differ so much in style from one to the next.  Makes it interesting if nothing else.  I certainly don't think I have a set style or maybe that is my style?!?!

The edge of this card front is cut off by 1.5 inches.  The card base is Almost Artichoke but that green strip you see on the right side is actually Basic Grey dp over top of the Artichoke.  It's a darker green than the card stock.  The dp under the image panel is also Basic Grey.  And this is my first "bunny ears" bow ever.  I love them and now I have options with my ribbon other than my same old knot.  Yay!  I didn't stamp a sentiment but I can always do something inside when I decide what occasion I will use it for.  This is the tree limb from Papetreys Out on a Limb.  I love this set so much.  My Feb Papertrey order is on its way.  It has been 10 days since I ordered so I am really hoping it will be here in the next week or so.  I Can't wait to see the new Papertrey paper, ribbon and ink colors in person.

Have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday, everyone!  I am hoping to stamp and get a little studying/reading in for a course I am taking.   See you soon.

Welcome Little Katie

                         For_kathy

My friend Kathy had her baby!  This was a big surprise to me because she was a lot early.....7 weeks and she is a teeny tiny 4lbs 2oz.  My friend Wendy sent me pics and she is adorable.  I can only just imagine how excited Kathy and Jeff are.  They are going to be amazing parents.  Congrats!!

So of course I had to make her a card!  And of course I had to use my new SU SAB set!  The card is so simple I won't go into any details but of course if you have any questions just let me know.  Oh, except I will say the ribbon is 1" wide and from Wal Mart.   Have a great day!

Feels Like Spring

                         Happy_spring_2

I know it's way too early for Spring especially since we have alot of snow and will continue to get snow until mid-May.  BUT we have had 2 days of beautiful sunny weather so it feels like Spring!!  It's great to be able to open a couple of windows and let the fresh air in.  It looks like we will get to a high of 10C today which is about 50F.  So I believe the weather helped inspire me to come up with this "springy" card.

The card is 4.5 at the widest point.  I cut the base down a bit so the top panel extends past it on either side.  The Old Olive dp is cut to fit the base rather then leaving any borders.  I also cut the butterfly paper to fit a piece of card stock to give it some strength and popped it up on dimensionals after tying the ribbon (which is from WalMart).  The sentiment is from a stamp set by Paper Salon and called Spring Fling.  It has alot of Easter style stamps so I am will have to use those soon.   The green rhinestone is self stick and I put it on top of a little white button.  It was just the right touch without going overboard.  Hope you likey!  Have a great day....Happy Friday!!

Cutest Primas

                        Thank_you_prima_3

I love these little Hydrangea Primas.  As you can see this card is super simple.  It's a nice thick white card stock base with Basic Grey dp on the bottom half.  I cut the stem out of Old Olive paper by hand and attached a little ribbon knot in place of leaves.  Once again....my favorite pink ribbon.  I stamped the sentiment on it using Burnt Umber Palette ink (which I love and everyone should own).  I think the sentiment is from a See D's stamp set I have.  The ribbon stamped so nicely and this way I kept it nice and clean and didn't have to clutter up the card with attaching the sentiment another way.  These would be great to mass produce to have on hand.  The sentiment can be left off and then just stamped on at the last minute depending on the occasion.

And that's that.  I hope you like it.  Have a great day!

Daisy Celebration

                          Celebrate_today

Hmmm.....interesting, no?  I had high hopes for it but it wasn't quite what I had in mind.  I think the string and daisy bead on my chipboard centre isn't the right touch.  The card will do in a pinch though when I need one for someones birthday.  My niece, Shelby said she loved it which was good enough for me.  The flower is a Bazzill Bling flower but this is the back side as the front was too shimmery for this card.  The sentiment is from Papertrey and I think that little daisy bead is from Walmart in the jewellery section.    Yay, today is Wednesday!  My last day of the week at work so you know what that means starting on Thursday???  Cleaning and Stamping.  One which I don't mind doing and one which I love doing.  Can ya guess which is which....lol!

I can't think of a title!!

                      Bw_thanks_2

I was out of town this past weekend but I had a chance to stamp yesterday due to the Stat holiday.  My 10 year old niece, Shelby, was here for a sleep over and we made cards all day.  She was a little stamping machine and I honestly think she made 8 or 9 cards!  I made 3 and to be honest I wasn't feeling it so I was not in love with them.  Today they don't look so bad to me so I will go ahead and post them over the next few days.  I hope someone likes them anyway.  Here is the first one.  I used my Nestabilities to cut and emboss the circle layers.  I also did this one in black and white as per my friend Rhonda's request.  I hope you like it, Rho?!?!  That's it for this late night post.  I will get another one up sometime tomorrow afternoon I think.  Have a great day everyone and Thanks for Looking!!

Papertrey Pink

                                Out_on_a_limb

Here is another card I had submitted to Papertrey for the Guest Stampers contest.  I stamped the branch upright to make them look like a flower arrangement.  The vase is a Marvy punch and I love it!  I got mine from Michaels and used my 40% coupon.   The paper is from a couple of different slabs of paper.  It reminds me of old fashioned wallpaper.  The twill is Martha Stewart.  I have all the colors but I am way excited to get Nicholes Papertrey ribbons in her colors.

Oh, I got my SU order today!  Woohoo.  I ordered $210 so I could get 3 of the free SAB sets plus a hostess set.  I haven't unpacked the box yet as we will be busy until Sunday night with family.  In Alberta Monday is a Statutory holiday called Family day so that means a nice long weekend for us.  I will certainly be spending Monday stamping and try to come up with something made out of the goodies in the box.

Well have a wonderful day everyone.  Thanks for looking.

Wish Card - Papertrey Honorable Mention

                             Wish_5

Thanks Nichole for the Honorable Mention on this card!  I am thrilled and if you know me then you know I LOVE Papertrey and Nichole!  I love everything Papertrey!  Congrats to the Guest Star Stamper winners and other honorable mentions.  All of the projects are truly amazing and she has her work cut out for her deciding from them all.  If you have not checked them out go here to Nicholes blog.  The family tree by Jewels is so stunning.  Can you just imagine the work that was involved in stamping that branch just right each time over and over?  Great work Jewels, you got my vote!  That is a winner for sure.

I placed my order last night for some of the new stamp sets from the release last night and I just have to wait patiently for them to arrive.    This certainly was a great way to start an extra long weekend.  So fun!  Thanks to everyone for visiting my blog.  It's been a great 2 weeks and everyone is SO nice.
