For Val

                        

Here is a card I made for my sister-in-law Val whose birthday is in May.  She lives on a farm in Manitoba and they don't have the internet so she won't see this until she gets it in the mail.  The flower is a Whispers flower by Prima.  That's a pink button with a rhinestone in the centre.  The base, the ribbon and the stamp are Papertrey....of course!!  The white paper layer is from a pack of white shimmery paper that my wonderful friend Wendy bought for me.  Thanks Wen, I love it!!  Wendy is the person I have to Thank (blame) for introducing me (getting me addicted) to this wonderful world of stamping.  Have a great day everyone.   Just an FYI on our weather.....the snow melted which is great however the forecast for tomorrow.....snow!  That's right...it's almost May and garden centres are opening all over yet we might be getting snow.  Crazy stuff.

Ribbon Card - April Colors

                        

Here it is!  My ribbon card made with Papertrey's April colors.  The base is Summer Sunrise and the lighter yellow is Lemon Tart.  I have to say I love them both!  I think the ribbon card looks great in these new colors and I have to say it was a nice discovery to know I had buttons and crocheted flowers to match.  I think that is a sign that I have too much schtuff!  I didn't add a sentiment but thought Happy Mothers Day would be nice.  But let's face it...chances aren't very good that I will be giving this card away.

Hi There!  Just a really quick card to post.  It's another cheater card because I used a sticker.  What kind of stamper am I that I am using stickers?  I will have to make sure this goes to a non-stamper so they won't know the difference....LOL!   The colors are just so fun!  I hope you likey!  Have a great day everyone.

Hi Everyone.  I hope you are having a nice Sunday and are relaxing and stamping.  I managed to make a card but I would hardly call it stamping.  That is a sticker I used which you can tell in the picture.  I got the stickers with a Papercraft magazine and wouldn't necessarily buy them but it sure was a quick fix.   The layout is taken from a card in the current SU mini.  Easy Peasy!  The flower is my beloved crocheted flowers.  I have about 3 or 4 other colors but I like to hoard them.  There are colors I don't have but a girl can wish.....hint, hint Jewels!  LOL.

So here is a quick picture totally off topic.  This is the snow we received on Friday and in to Saturday.  I sent this to my in-laws in Sugar Land Texas because this is exactly the time in April that we would normally be there visiting.  How unfair is that???  I could be shopping at Hobby Lobby!!  I Love that store.  But there is always next year, right?   Well I am off to see if I can create something else.  Have a great day!!

Baby Jars and a Card

                   

Hi Everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend.  I didn't get to stamp but my sister was here visiting (from Edmonton) as she had her sister in laws baby shower to attend.  We altered these little baby food jars for the guests.  Inside the jars are peppermint scented Epsom salts.  I got this idea from my good friend (....Hi Steph!) and have made them for 3 different baby showers.

The material is cut to 4.5 x 4.5 square and held on with white hair tie elastics which the ribbon covers up.  I didn't attend the shower but I sent a gift and realized I didn't have a card (what is that all about?!?!? lol.  Does that happen to you too?).  So as we were finished the jars I had a bunch of scrap material all over that table and wanted to see if I could make a card using the fabric.  I quite like how it turned out.  Don't you just love that bright retro looking fabric?  I am going to try to cover a bulletin board with it or frame a piece for my craft space.  Speaking of craft space....the paint is done and it is gorgeous!  I love the color so much.  However the storage is still to be figured out and could be a couple of months.  I did attend Home Depot and that is definitely an option but I am going to discuss custom building the work space and cabinets with my carpenter first and decide what works best for me.  I will keep you posted and one of these days I will upload before and after pics.  For all you Papertrey fans....see you tomorrow night at the release party!!  Unfortunately I did not find the time to create anything to submit to GSS but I can't wait to get my hands on the new yellows.  Love those!

Yay, I Stamped!!

                        

Hi Everyone!!  I am happy to say I did stamp this weekend even if it was just 2 cards.  This is the first chance I have had to use my new Papertrey order.  I absolutely love this set called It's A Celebration.  Cupcake stamps are so popular right now so I was happy to jump on the band wagon with this card.  Oh and I used this stitched grosgrain ribbon and I love it more than I even thought I would.  I so have to add the Aqua Mist and Spring Moss stitched grosgrain to my next order.  The only other item I managed to make this weekend was a re-creation of my Ribbon Card but using March's colors.   I must warn you I will likely make one every month with each newly released set of colors.  Here it is.  I hope you like it.   

                        

I took the pictures at different times of the day so it's hard to tell but they are the same colors on each card....Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush.  OH and to give you a quick update on my basement.....it is 99% done.  The painter is coming Monday morning and I am hoping that means all the trim, doors and walls will be painted by the end of the week.  We feel pretty lucky because we have gone from bare concrete to finished basement in about 3 months.  With the construction boom going on in Calgary we worried about finding the sub-trades but it all went so smoothly.  Now I just need to work on designing my cabinets and storage.  That will be the hardest part for me because of course I want it to be as perfect as possible.  Have a wonderful week everyone.  I am thrilled because I have the whole week off.  Gotta like that!

Quick update.....basement carpet is coming Thursday and you know what that means?!?!  That my schtuff is coming out of hiding.  I won't have any kind of storage or cabinets built in yet but that's OK...I'll just put it back on the floor where it used to be...LOL!!  It is my goal to stamp this weekend and then I can spend Sunday, Monday and Tuesday studying with a clear content mind!  Once this exam is over I am free!!
