My Very Late Blog Hop Entry

                         May Blog Hop

Is late better than never??  I am still having problems with Typepad including the size of the picture it will allow me to upload.  Sorry it is so large but it seems to be the only way it will let me post it.  I will come back and try to edit the size later.  ETA:  I was able to edit the picture size to normal!!   Anywho....this was supposed to be my entry for the Blog Hop challenge which was to use "scoring" as a feature.  I first embossed the shape of a circle Nestabilities into the cardstock and then I used my ScorPal to score the lines every 1/4" or so.  The stamp image is SU and I used Burnt Umber Palette ink to stamp over the scoring.  I like how the ink did not get into the grid lines.  I found the circle to be too plain alone so I cut a frame using the Nesties also.  Other than that a few felt flowers, sentiment and some ribbon and it was done.  I also liked how the ribbon has the "scored" lines to help tie the lines in.  I do not like that my sentiment is crooked!  I did post this card in the gallery on PTI when I could not upload it on the blog so Thank You to everyone who viewed it and made such nice comments.  If friends were flowers, I would pick you!!!

ShoeBox Swap

                          CB Shoebox Swap

Yesterday (Sunday) my girlfriends and I got together for one of our ShoeBox Swaps.  I thought I would share all the cards with you.  Mine was inspired by this card by Geny.  I loved her Cuttlebug flowers and went right out to buy the die but this was my first chance to use it.  Here are the cards the girls brought.  Aren't they great?  You may be able to click on the pics to get a better view.  It's so fun to do other peoples cards.  Everyone has such a different style and it's great.  Three of these girls are my Cruise buddies in October.  Very exciting!!  And a big Thanks to Rhonda for being our wonderful hostess this time!!

Spreading The Love to SU!

                          Two Hearts One Love

Don't you love this SU dp??  I do!  The cardstock is part of the current In Colors. Everything here is SU --- except for the sentiment (Papertrey) and the ribbon which Donna gave me.....and it's a gorgeous color and ties so nicely!  Thanks Donna....I am really loving all the great stuff.  I hope someone I know gets married soon as this would be a great wedding card!!  Have a great day!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Birds Galore

                         Bird Card

Don't you love it when you forget that you ordered something and you get a mystery package in the mail?  I had ordered this from Scrappin' Great Deals here in Canada and forgot all about it.  Apparently it was on backorder.  The set is called Birds Galore by Inkadinkado.  Cute, yes?

This is the card I made for Becky's husband's grandmother.  She is turning 105 tomorrow!!  Isn't that amazing?  Well Becky put a call out for stampers to see if she could receive 105 cards by her birthday.  I don't think she will have gotten mine in time as we all know how impossible our postal system is in Canada.  Hey Beck (BFL), don't forget to tell us how many cards she ended up receiving.  I hope she had a wonderful birthday.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Finally bought some Transparency Sheets

                         First Transparency

.......and I love them!!  I am pleasantly surprised with how sturdy they are.....however the fingerprints I can do without!  The felt flowers are from my friend Amy and the button is one that Donna sent me.  Thanks girls!!!  Both go wonderfully with my Papertrey paper.

I feel like most everything I am creating lately is without actual stamping.  Is it "cheating" stamping that I am using embellishments and paper and ribbon as the main features?  I am hoping that when my Copics arrive it inspires me to stamp and color more because I have a whole lot of stamps being sadly neglected.  I do have a couple more cards to share with you over the week so come back soon.  One of them is actually all Stampin' Up products (almost).  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day everyone.

Another SIL B-day card

                         Tammy_bday_2008

Happy Monday!!  Well, it is here....because we are having a Statutory holiday in Canada.  I am going to sleep in, go for a walk, plant the rest of my annuals I bought yesterday and then Stamp!  I have only managed to make a couple of cards this weekend as the weather has been so amazing that we have been out and about.

This card is one I made last weekend.  My SIL's birthday is early June and I hope she does not see this beforehand (another SIL who lives on a farm w/o a computer but she goes to the library to log on...Hi Tammy....if you are looking!).  The cardstock, dp, ribbon and stamp are Papertrey (of course!!).  The flowers are SU and they are so nice!!  Wouldn't it be amazing if Nichole came out with felt flowers in the Papertrey colors???   Have a great day, Everyone!!

Just Leaves

                         Leaves_background_2

This card is one I made to enter in the Papertrey GSS contest.  I made the background using the leaves stamp from Papertrey Father Knows Best.  I masked the leaves so I could stamp it in various colors (Summer Sun, Burnt Umber & Spring Moss).  The ribbon is to die for!!  I picked it up at Michaels in the bargain bin for only $1.29.  It matches the Summer Sun cardstock perfectly.  The felt flowers are SU.  I didn't put a sentiment on as I didn't want to take away from the background.

I placed my Papertrey order and I am excited to see the new purple in person (to make my ribbon card!!) and get a hold of the Baby set.  I don't have a baby set...can you believe that??  Did you all get a chance to see the GSS entries?  I am floored by them all.  So amazing!  I will have to get my courage up to enter again--eeek!!    I am thrilled to say I am now off for 5 days - we have a Stat holiday Monday in Canada -- so just as soon as my house is clean I plan on stamping and shopping!  Hey Em....I ordered a set of 72 Copics from the first site you told us about.  I am excited about that.  Thanks for enabling!!  LOL.

It's Papertrey Time!!

                         Fathers_day_2008_2

Hi!  I am sorry that I have been such a terrible poster.  I got in trouble for it today.....Sorry Steph!!  haha.   Well I have been stamping a little here and there.  This is a card I made to submit to the Papertrey Guest Star Stamper contest.  A girl can hope, right?!?  I am terrible for leaving my stamps on the plastic sheets they come on rather than transferring them to the CD case.  So I used Versamark over the entire sheet of stamps and used it for the subtle background.  The leaves were masked so they didn't over lap and look messy.  The ribbon is my beloved Summer Sun grosgrain!!   OH...and the buttons are from my friend Donna.  Aren't they perfect for this card???  Donna sent me some amazing ribbon, dp, buttons, die cut flowers, stickers, this bind it all address book and this card!! I cannot tell you how much I LOVE that card!!  It is so gorgeous!!  I am going to try to frame it for display in my craft room.  It was such a generous package and I love it all!!! Thank you so much Donna!!  I am going to send you a package of all the Papertrey cardstock, dp and ribbons.

Tomorrow is the Papertrey release party.  I am going to try to be there but turns out we have plans to go for dinner with my BIL who is in from Texas.  He brought me 3 packs of designer paper from Hobby Lobby () so that is a dinner I don't want to miss.  LOL!    I will post my other entry to GSS tomorrow after work.  Thanks for visiting.  Have a great day!!

A Pretty Prima Card

                         Prima_card

Hi All.  Just wanted to share a simple little card I made the other night.  I just love these hydrangea primas and the fact that I found matching brads for all of them was a great bonus!  This is a Kraft base with the Lemon Tart and Summer Sunrise Papertrey paper again.  I seriously love those colors.  That's it, that's all.  Have a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by.

So Many Expecting!

        Shes_expecting_1_3        Shes_expecting_2a              Shes_expecting_4_2    Shes_expecting_3a_3

Hi All!!  I am currently in Saskatoon (a short 1 hour flight from home) visiting my cousin.  We won't be doing any stamping but here are some cards I made this last week.  I have a number of friends who are pregnant and I am more than behind in getting cards sent out to them.  If you are pregnant and I know you...chances are good one of these are on the way to you!!   They all have the same $1.50 bin Michaels stamp and generally the same layout but all are unique because of the different colors and dp.  Can you tell that I love the wide grosgrain ribbon??  LOL.

I have to admit my favorite card of these 4 is the yellow and purple.  If you had told me a month ago I would pair yellow and purple together and love it so much I would have told you that you are crazy.  But this Papertrey Lemon Tart yellow is so amazing and it really is my current favorite color.  I would love to hear which of these cards is your favorite.  (and I just have to point out that the flower in the background is my Christmas Cactus plant.  It has been blooming like crazy lately.  Isn't it so pretty?).  Have a great weekend!!
