Hi All. Hope you had a great weekend. How many of you had a chance to play along with Embellish Magazines current challenge? You can find the details here and if you play there's a great prize of ribbon up for grabs.
I just wanted to share another card I made using the ribbon that was provided by May Arts Ribbon {they were the sponsor of this great challenge}. I stitched it in to a cute little ruffle. The solid blue is actually the back of this printed ribbon. Here's a tip on how to get the most out of your ribbon when making a ruffle. Cut the ribbon in half all the way down the centre so you have two strips ..each with a cut edge and a finished edge. Sew those strips (right sides) together so your 2 strips become one really long strip. ~~Does that make sense??~~ I then "ruffled" the ribbon as I went along stitching it on the sewing machine. If you look closely you can actually see where I stitched the 2 strips together. Look at the ruffle near the right side of the picture below.
It's really easy to do this....but let me know if you have any questions.
On a side note....do you remember me telling you that Carly, Steph and I did some shopping at Target when we were at CHA in California (because we don't have Target in Canada)? Well here's a picture of a great sisal table runner and AMAZING green wooden platter/plate thingy I bought. Green is my favorite colour and I can't tell you how much I am in love with this piece. Carly was killing herself laughing at the stuff that Steph and I were bringing back because they were risky items that could have easily broken in our suitcases. But they didn't....they all made it home safe and sound.
Be sure to check out Steph's blog for her absolutely fabulous CHA pics. She really showcased the product!!
On another side note....have you all seen that Courtney Baker is releasing a new stamp set on February 6th? Her stamp company is called Practicing Creativity Designs and you will love her style! Check out her blog this week for sneak peeks. ~~~I may or may not have a few creations to share with you at the end of the week using her new fantastic stamp set!!~~ But I'm not telling.
