Last week you may remember me saying that our counter tops were being templated. They are currently in production to be cut to size. Mark (PM) told me they are coming from Saskatchewan (which is one Province over from us). I *think* they should be here this week which means that back splash, lighting, remaining cabinet doors and drawers can be completed too. Since I don't have any progress to report I thought I'd share with you some of the items that will be going into the kitchen. Of course you will see real photos once these items are physically in the kitchen but I will link you up in the meantime.
First up....Counter tops. What I chose is Quartz. I'm not a big fan of the veining and dark spots that can come even in a light granite. I wanted white, white, white. My wonderful designer found the perfect counter for me. It's so white that you can barely even see it below...ha. Actually it looks grey below but it's not.
It was so important to me that the quartz counter did *not* have a seam in the island. We were going to have a 3/4" overhang all around but to get away with no seam I had to lose 1/4" on each of the ends. That is a very small price to pay for one big beautiful slab. And no one will even notice the over hang is only 1/2".
I've previously mentioned that our sink is a Lineo Amano LI 2000 Varsi. It was delivered last week and even came with it's own fabric designer bag. When my friend Jewels was here and saw the sink she asked me if I was going to cry when it got the first scratch. Yes, the answer is yes.
My back splash is 3 x 6 marble tile. Specifically~~ Marble Bianco Venatino Gioia ANS040. There is 4 boxes of these babies in the garage waiting for installation. We don't have much area to cover in the way of back splash but I am going to love what we do have.
My pendant lighting. Oh, be still my heart I am so in LOVE with my pendants. Technically they should have been here by now (2-3 week late already) so I'm getting very nervous. The store we ordered them through tells us they are scheduled for the week of July 26. That is cutting it so close and I will have a freak out if something goes wrong and I can't get these exact lights. I NEED these exact lights.
Winslow 3825 in satin nickel. From Hudson Valley Lighting. It is a 14.5" x 14.5" base which is going to be perfect because the 10' island really needed something that would be equally as bold. There will be 2 of them. There couldn't be a more perfect light fixture for our kitchen.
My faucet and soap dispenser is Brizo Venuto. Love.
I'm going to wait to post about my handles selections because I still have to decide where they are going to be attached onto the cabinet. I talked this over with my designer and I don't think I will be doing anything crazy with their placement. Sometimes less is more classic, ya know? When I showed her where I was thinking of putting them she said "Martha" wouldn't do that. Laugh.
So there you have it. I hope this helps you visualize a bit more of what is to come with the kitchen renovation. Keep your fingers crossed that the counters arrive this week and that the floors get finished as scheduled the week of July 19.
Thanks for stopping by!
