Over on the Technique Tuesday forum at Splitcoaststampers Teri challenged the Stamping Techs to create treat packaging or a goodie type of project. Well, I'm a little obsessed with jars these days so I decorated one of my little blue canning jars.
To make the base of my tag I adhered green cardstock to a Technique Tiles chipboard oval shape and then ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss it. It worked so fabulous. This and the idea to use the little banner shape as a tree came from Teri. {{Yep, I stole her ideas.....cuz they're too good not to!}}
The sentiment, the tree topper and the little starburst in the embossed circles are from Season's Greetings stamp set. The tree and the little bows on the tree are made with the penants from Message in a Banner. I inked up a piece of Ric Rac baseboard and then stamped over it. I love how bold it turned out.
Here is what the front of the jar looks like. Truth be told I would never part with this jar but you could easily buy some great looking canning jars to use.....or hit garage sales and thrift stores {like I do}. You never know what fun and unique ones you will find. Something like this would be really fun to give the neighbors kids or even a fun stocking stuffer. You could fill it with chocolate covered almonds, M&M's or pistachio nuts. Sky's the limit.
To check out some pretty cool projects by the other Stamping Tech's come on over to the TT forum at SCS and visit!!
And before I go here's a picture of a couple of blue jars I have sitting by my sink. I just love the way they look and they make me happy. A friend (Hi KS) told me she liked the jars but the lids were "too old". She made me laugh.
