ATC Turned Into A Card

                        

Hi All!  It is a super happy Monday because I am not working today!!!  Tuesday is Canada Day so I took today off and ended up with a 6 day weekend.  Gotta like that!   I am happy to say I ordered some new rubber this weekend too.  I have some CHF (Kim Hughes collection) and Unity Stamps coming....very exciting but, oh,  the wait is going to be hard. 

I am in an ATC swap over at Papertrey and this is basically the ATC I did for the swap...... except with pink ribbon.  I made this one and converted it in to a full size card.  Oh, and I have to say I LOVE the new Papertrey vanilla cardstock.  It makes me so happy!!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #1

                        

One of the greatest things about blogging and hanging out on forums, such as Papertrey, is all the great people I have "met" and become friends with. Three of them are fellow Canadians who are super talented stampers and bloggers but most importantly they are amazing girls who are fun, fun, fun!!  I met Jewels in January when we both won the Papertrey GSS.  We only live 2.5 hours apart and we hit it off immediately.  I met Dee and Regan on the Papertrey forums.  They live in Eastern Canada across the street from each other. 

I thought it would be fun to do a blog challenge with these girls and when I asked they were all for it.  Soooo....every 2 weeks one of us will pick a stamp set and colors that we must use and then post the results.  It will be fun to see how different everyones cards can be using the same ingredients.  We would love it if you would play along.  If you do be sure to post a link in the comments section so we can check it out.  For this weeks challenge I chose the Papertrey set Piece of Cake as well as the colors Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist and Choc Chip.  Any of the stamps from the set can be used. 

When trying to think of a name for our little challenge Loonie Stampers Challenge popped in to my head.  I told the girls it was because we are Canadian and our dollar coin is called a Loonie.......but really, it's because the girls are a little bit crazy!!  LOL, but don't tell them I said that.

Duck Bunny Elephant

                            

How's that for a catchy title???  LOL.  Good Morning!!  Here is another card I made with the cute little animals at the top of the card.  I stamped on white cardstock and used a craft knife to cut around them and then scored to bend the paper back at their feet.   I did cover the back side with dp to hide the cut out section.   Don't laugh----but this is about my 3nd try at using Copics but the first time I used it on a card.  My blending definitely needs a little work but I think I will really enjoy those markers.  Great investment!

OK, You have to go check out my friend Dee's card she posted on Sunday.  I laughed because not only do I think she and I look alike but our cards even look alike!  Hi Twin!!!

Ribbon Card - May Color

                        

Hi All.  Here is my ribbon card layout in the Papertrey May color - Lavender Moon.  It is such a lovely color and I hope my picture did justice to the color.  But chances are you ordered the paper and received it long before I did so you know exactly how nice it is!  As there was only one color released this month (besides the Kraft color) I chose to pair it up with white grosgrain ribbon.  Well..... that's it, that's all.  Have a wonderful day everyone!! Another SIL B-day card

                        

Happy Monday!!  Well, it is here....because we are having a Statutory holiday in Canada.  I am going to sleep in, go for a walk, plant the rest of my annuals I bought yesterday and then Stamp!  I have only managed to make a couple of cards this weekend as the weather has been so amazing that we have been out and about. 

This card is one I made last weekend.  My SIL's birthday is early June and I hope she does not see this beforehand (another SIL who lives on a farm w/o a computer but she goes to the library to log on...Hi Tammy....if you are looking!).  The cardstock, dp, ribbon and stamp are Papertrey (of course!!).  The flowers are SU and they are so nice!!  Wouldn't it be amazing if Nichole came out with felt flowers in the Papertrey colors???   Have a great day, Everyone!!

Just Leaves

                        

This card is one I made to enter in the Papertrey GSS contest.  I made the background using the leaves stamp from Papertrey Father Knows Best.  I masked the leaves so I could stamp it in various colors (Summer Sun, Burnt Umber & Spring Moss).  The ribbon is to die for!!  I picked it up at Michaels in the bargain bin for only $1.29.  It matches the Summer Sun cardstock perfectly.  The felt flowers are SU.  I didn't put a sentiment on as I didn't want to take away from the background.

I placed my Papertrey order and I am excited to see the new purple in person (to make my ribbon card!!) and get a hold of the Baby set.  I don't have a baby set...can you believe that??  Did you all get a chance to see the GSS entries?  I am floored by them all.  So amazing!  I will have to get my courage up to enter again--eeek!!    I am thrilled to say I am now off for 5 days - we have a Stat holiday Monday in Canada -- so just as soon as my house is clean I plan on stamping and shopping!  Hey Em....I ordered a set of 72 Copics from the first site you told us about.  I am excited about that.  Thanks for enabling!!  LOL.

It's Papertrey Time!!

                        

Hi!  I am sorry that I have been such a terrible poster.  I got in trouble for it today.....Sorry Steph!!  haha.   Well I have been stamping a little here and there.  This is a card I made to submit to the Papertrey Guest Star Stamper contest.  A girl can hope, right?!?  I am terrible for leaving my stamps on the plastic sheets they come on rather than transferring them to the CD case.  So I used Versamark over the entire sheet of stamps and used it for the subtle background.  The leaves were masked so they didn't over lap and look messy.  The ribbon is my beloved Summer Sun grosgrain!!   OH...and the buttons are from my friend Donna.  Aren't they perfect for this card???  Donna sent me some amazing ribbon, dp, buttons, die cut flowers, stickers, this bind it all address book and this card!! I cannot tell you how much I LOVE that card!!  It is so gorgeous!!  I am going to try to frame it for display in my craft room.  It was such a generous package and I love it all!!! Thank you so much Donna!!  I am going to send you a package of all the Papertrey cardstock, dp and ribbons.

Tomorrow is the Papertrey release party.  I am going to try to be there but turns out we have plans to go for dinner with my BIL who is in from Texas.  He brought me 3 packs of designer paper from Hobby Lobby () so that is a dinner I don't want to miss.  LOL!    I will post my other entry to GSS tomorrow after work.  Thanks for visiting.  Have a great day!!

Ribbon Card - April Colors

                        

Here it is!  My ribbon card made with Papertrey's April colors.  The base is Summer Sunrise and the lighter yellow is Lemon Tart.  I have to say I love them both!  I think the ribbon card looks great in these new colors and I have to say it was a nice discovery to know I had buttons and crocheted flowers to match.  I think that is a sign that I have too much schtuff!  I didn't add a sentiment but thought Happy Mothers Day would be nice.  But let's face it...chances aren't very good that I will be giving this card away.

Yay, I Stamped!!

                        

Hi Everyone!!  I am happy to say I did stamp this weekend even if it was just 2 cards.  This is the first chance I have had to use my new Papertrey order.  I absolutely love this set called It's A Celebration.  Cupcake stamps are so popular right now so I was happy to jump on the band wagon with this card.  Oh and I used this stitched grosgrain ribbon and I love it more than I even thought I would.  I so have to add the Aqua Mist and Spring Moss stitched grosgrain to my next order.  The only other item I managed to make this weekend was a re-creation of my Ribbon Card but using March's colors.   I must warn you I will likely make one every month with each newly released set of colors.  Here it is.  I hope you like it.   

                        

I took the pictures at different times of the day so it's hard to tell but they are the same colors on each card....Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush.  OH and to give you a quick update on my basement.....it is 99% done.  The painter is coming Monday morning and I am hoping that means all the trim, doors and walls will be painted by the end of the week.  We feel pretty lucky because we have gone from bare concrete to finished basement in about 3 months.  With the construction boom going on in Calgary we worried about finding the sub-trades but it all went so smoothly.  Now I just need to work on designing my cabinets and storage.  That will be the hardest part for me because of course I want it to be as perfect as possible.  Have a wonderful week everyone.  I am thrilled because I have the whole week off.  Gotta like that!
