Do any of you keep your little bits of ribbon that you trim off your bows? Or have those end pieces from a roll that aren't big enough to use on a card? Now be honest so I don't look ridiculous for keeping mine. Here's my (terrible) storage where I throw all those little bits. Anywho.....lately I have been hoping someone would come up with a great way to use up these ribbon scraps. Then I thought....why not me?!!
Well here it is.......my Ribbon Scrap Border Card.
{{{I actually have a pillow from Pier 1 that is entirely covered with ribbon loops just like this.}}}
Now even if you don't keep your ribbon scraps you could certainly clip off bits from any of your ribbon rolls to make this ribbon border. I took a few pictures to show you how.
First cut a strip of card stock about 4 1/4" x 3/4". Start looping your ribbon and attaching. I recently bought the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher from a local scrapbook store. It has the teeniest tiniest cutest staples. I love it. A regular stapler will work just fine and you could even use Scor-tape as I am sure it would be strong enough to hold.
I made a couple of rows and just mixed and matched the colours and styles of ribbon. Cuteness!
Then I trimmed off as much excess as I could. Trim as close as you can to the staples so they will be well hidden behind whatever you chose to cover the edge with.....that could be paper or more ribbon. I chose this amazing Twill from Perfectly Pretty. I was so pleased to discover that it is a PERFECT match to the Kraft cardstock. Seriously....this twill is a must have for anyone who loves Kraft.
So there you have it. My Ribbon Scrap Border Card. What do you think? Were the photos helpful? Will you try making one? I'd LOVE to see it if you do so please be sure to let me know where I can find it. I had so much fun with this and I hope you enjoyed my little 'how-to'. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a GREAT week everyone!
