100 Loonie Challenges! Do you know that this means I have known these crazy Loonies of mine for over 2 years now? Actually it's been about 3 years (except I've known Wendy for 18 years). It's certainly been fun and entertaining hanging with these girls!
Regan chose for us to make a monochromatic card today. Mono to represent the "1" in 100. Get it? Good thing she didn't choose something like "use 100 embellishments on your card".
So as you can see I chose green. It's my favorite colour you know. Just thought I'd let you know that in case the 10' x 4' green monster in the middle of my kitchen didn't already clue you in.
I used my new Donna Downey stamp on the centre block. It shows better IRL and I love the suttle look of the stems and flowers of the green on green.
We were allowed to use white or cream with our monochromatic card. Nope, no cheating here!
Check out the girl and have a FABULOUS weekend.
Before I go I wanted to show you what Regan and Dee introduced us to. FABRIC. Don't get me wrong...I have a drawer full of fabric but I don't have this DESIGNER fabric. Oh. My. God. We went to 2 amazing Quilt stores while in Toronto area and I was so impressed with both. They are lucky to have access to such great stores. I have checked on line to see what quilt stores we have here in Calgary and I'm not holding out any hope that they will carry trendy lines.....based on the websites I could find anyway.
This happy little bundle of fat quarters is a quilt kit and I just love each of the patterns.
Here's a picture of the quilt that it makes. Now let me tell you....this is very much beyond me so I'm pretty sure that I won't be attempting that anytime soon. I'm thinking of doing a Rag Quilt with these pieces instead. Regan showed us how to make them and they look pretty easy. When will I attempt this fabulous rag quilt? That is the million dollar question now isn't it? I'll add it to my list of every other project I want to do some day.
The fabrics below were miscellaneous fat quarters I picked up. Alot of them are Amy Butler. Wicked stuff I tell ya. I did pick up those 2 larger pieces thinking I might try a pillow or 2 but really the jury is out as to whether I can even make a pillow. Haha. Is it not enough to just hoard the fabric and love it from afar?
