Steph and I went-a junkin' yesterday and we both agreed it was not the most successful day. There weren't too many garage sales in the area we went to so we also went to a couple of thrift stores. ~~But having said that I still managed to find some schtuff, of course~~.
This was a pretty good score for me actually. These are the EXACT same dishes we have. Found these at the Thrift store for 0.59cents and 0.79cents each. I am pretty sure I paid $60 or $80 for 4 place setting set of these at Home Outfitters a couple years ago. I have chips on a couple of mine from the dishwasher and considered getting something different. But to find these for that price....I'll replace the chipped ones and use them for a few more years.
I almost didn't bring this jar home but I'm so glad I did. Steph told me that Thrifty Decor Chick just posted some jars like this that she is using for cereal. That is a GREAT IDEA {{but knowing me I probably will end up with candy in it....haha}}. I paid $5.99 at the Thrift store.
It's a really large jar actually and I am happy that the label came off easily. I just need to get me some chalk to figure out if that black part is chalk friendly. If not Steph said she will cut me some vinyl on her Cricut.
Here's where I can see myself using it at Christmas time. Filled with some homemade Nuts & Bolts and a scoop. Fun, yes? {{the counter top is coming!!}}
Speaking of Christmas we happen to be hosting it this year. For sure Mike's family is coming and hopefully my mom and dad too (hint hint...) so I bought this 2 -tier platter for both our mom's to fill with their baked goodies. Aren't I just so thoughtful to think of them??? Ha! It was $6.99 which is likely way too much but oh well. {{please look away from the dirty dusty hardwood floors....it's raw Walnut and they are getting finished in 10 days}}
Steph made me buy these mugs. {{Bwahaha....I told her I was going to say that}}. She spotted them knowing I love anything green and for 0.75cents each I couldn't leave them especially because they are Fire King. They will be the smallest cup of coffee I've ever had. They made things smaller in the old days didn't they?
This metal tin was a $1. I can use it as a planter or spray paint it to use indoors (if I ever get around to actually spray painting anything in my life). And what is that you see inside?
Well, it happens to be what didn't make it home with me...not in one piece anyway. The cutest little milk glass Fire King casserole dish tumbled out of my vehicle when I opened the back door. Dang.
I am linking up to Rhoda's Thrifty Treasure party at Southern Hospitality.

Thanks for hosting ladies!
