Ahhhh.....diecuts! One of my most favorite craft items to buy ever. I admit I have a Cricut machine but dies are still my go-to choice.
Speaking of favorite somethings ever.....this weeks Embellish Magazine challenge is amazing. Just look at that inspiration photo. Do you love it too? I hope you'll join the challenge. All you have to do is create a card using any die cut of your choice and the colours listed above.....Green, Lavender, Kraft and Cream. SO pretty! As luck would have it I JUST got my hands on my latest Stampin' Up order and I had 2 brand new Sizzix Bigz dies that were perfect for this challenge. I am in LOVE with both the Bigz L Fun Flowers and the Bigz Lattice.
For the life of me I could not figure out how to add a sentiment to this card because I didn't want to cover up all that great lattice background. {{It look me at least 3 hours to finish this card because of that.}} Finally, I came across some old Scenic Route rub-ons (whatever happened to that company? They had the best rub-ons!!) which I wasn't sure would work over top of the lattice but it worked like a charm. It's bold but it blends right in. And I love that I didn't have to add another layer of paper.
Here's a close up of the dimension of the flower. There are 3 layers (plus the centre) and I gave them each a bit of curl and sponging on the petals. I cannot wait make some of these flowers out of felt. Ohhhh and denim too! Can't wait to play.
